The short version
The Beauts app processes your photos on your Mac. Your photos never leave your device. They are not sent to any server and are not used for training anything. The app does not phone home and does not require an account.
Our website and payment processor collect some personal data when you visit or buy a licence. That is what most of this policy describes.
What we collect
When you use the app
Almost nothing. The app does not send data about you, your photos, or how you use it.
If you opt in to crash reporting (off by default), it sends technical details to Sentry — stack trace, OS version, Beauts version. No photos, no file paths from your home folder, no identifier we can link back to you. You can change this in the app's settings at any time.
When you visit beauts.app
- Standard web server logs: IP address, browser, page requested, timestamp. Held by Cloudflare for up to 7 days for security purposes.
- We do not currently run analytics. If we add them, we will use a cookieless provider (Plausible or Fathom) and update this policy.
When you buy a licence
Payment is handled by Paddle (the Merchant of Record). Paddle collects your name, email, billing country and address, and payment card details. Their privacy policy is at paddle.com/legal/privacy.
We receive from Paddle: your email (to deliver the licence and reply to support), your order ID, amount, currency, and country. We never receive your full card details.
When you contact support
We hold the email content and your email address for as long as needed to handle the conversation, plus seven years for UK accounting records.
Newsletter
If we run a newsletter we will collect your email address and subscription date via a privacy-respecting provider. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
